This Privacy Policy describes how PGApp ("we", "us", "our"), developed and maintained by Evolvah Technologies, collects, protects, uses, and discloses personal and operational information when you use our mobile application and related accommodation management services.
PGApp is a cloud-powered property management platform serving two primary categories of users:
- Property Owners & Managers: Individuals or businesses managing Paying Guest (PG) facilities, student hostels, and co-living spaces.
- Residents & Tenants: Individuals residing in or moving into these accommodations.
By downloading, accessing, or using PGApp, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information strictly necessary to provide seamless property operations, rent invoicing, and tenant verification:
A. Account & Profile Information
- Phone Number: Authenticated securely via Firebase Phone OTP as your unique user account ID.
- Full Name & Email Address: Used for account identity, PDF invoice creation, and administrative communication.
- Role Assignment: Distinguishes between Owner and Resident profiles.
B. Property & Room Inventory Data
- Property names, physical street addresses, floor counts, room numbers, bed allocation matrix, monthly rent slabs, security deposit amounts, and amenity lists.
C. Resident KYC & Verification Documents
- Personal details: Permanent residence address, occupation, employer or college name, and emergency guardian contacts.
- Identity Proof (Aadhaar / Government ID): Aadhaar number, front & back card photographs, and resident profile photo uploaded solely for landlord tenancy compliance, police verification requirements, and residential security.
D. Billing, Rent & Financial Information
- Monthly rent bills, electricity meter readings & charges, maintenance dues, and payment statuses (Paid, Pending, Overdue).
- Uploaded transaction screenshots and payment reference numbers.
- Virtual Payment Addresses (UPI IDs): Property owner UPI ID for incoming rent payments, and resident UPI ID for security deposit refunds.
- Important: PGApp does NOT collect, capture, or store debit/credit card numbers, CVVs, or internet banking passwords.
E. Device Identifiers & Diagnostics
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) registration tokens used exclusively to send real-time transaction and property alerts.
- Crash logs and performance diagnostics to resolve software bugs.
3. Device Permissions & Purpose
In accordance with Google Play Developer Policies, PGApp requests device permissions only when strictly required for user-initiated features:

4. Financial Data & UPI Payments
Direct Peer-to-Peer Model: PGApp does not act as a payment gateway, payment aggregator, or custodial escrow wallet. Rent transactions occur directly between the resident and the property owner via standard UPI payment links (Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM) or cash.
Zero Commission: Evolvah Technologies does not deduct payment fees or middleman commissions from rent transactions.
Receipt Integrity: Stored payment screenshots are encrypted and retained strictly as documentary audit records between the property owner and the resident.
5. Data Storage, Security & Encryption
We implement industry-standard administrative, physical, and technical safeguards to protect your personal and operational data:
- Cloud Infrastructure: All backend services, databases, and file storage are hosted on Google Cloud Firebase Firestore and Firebase Storage.
- Encryption in Transit: All data transmitted between the mobile application and cloud servers is protected using Transport Layer Security (TLS 1.3 / HTTPS).
- Encryption at Rest: All stored documents, KYC photos, and database entries are encrypted using 256-bit AES encryption.
- No Commercial Sale of Data: Evolvah Technologies does NOT sell, rent, trade, monetize, or disclose your personal or tenant data to third-party data brokers or marketing companies.
6. Account & Data Deletion Rights (Google Play Compliant)
In full compliance with Google Play Store User Data policies, PGApp provides direct, automated, and permanent account and data deletion mechanisms:
Option A: Immediate In-App Deletion (For Property Owners)
Property owners can permanently erase their entire account directly from within the app by navigating to:Settings > Danger Zone > "Permanently Delete Owner Account"
This action triggers an immediate, cascading, and irreversible deletion of:
- The Firebase Authentication user account and phone number linkage.
- All associated properties, buildings, floors, rooms, and bed matrix entries.
- All registered tenant dossiers, uploaded Aadhaar cards, and KYC photos.
- All billing ledgers, rent invoices, payment receipts, and maintenance logs.
Option B: Resident Move-Out & Stay Closure (For Tenants)
Residents can submit a move-out request via My Stay > Request Move-Out. Upon checkout settlement, the resident stay record is concluded and the bed allocation is liberated.
Option C: Direct Web / Email Deletion Request
You can also request complete account and data erasure by emailing us at support@evolvah.com from your registered email address or phone number with the subject line "Data Deletion Request - PGApp". Requests are verified and processed within 48 hours.
7. Third-Party Services & SDKs
PGApp integrates with trusted third-party service providers who adhere to strict data security standards:
- Google Firebase: Used for phone authentication, real-time database (Cloud Firestore), encrypted cloud storage, and push notifications (FCM). Review the Google Privacy Policy.
- Google ML Kit: Used for on-device optical character recognition (OCR) for document and Aadhaar parsing. Processing occurs strictly on the local device; camera images are not transmitted to third-party servers.
8. Children's Privacy (COPPA)
PGApp is intended for adults and college students capable of entering into legally binding tenancy and accommodation contracts. We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under the age of 13. If you become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at support@evolvah.com and we will delete the data without delay.
9. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect operational, legal, or regulatory updates. Any changes will be posted on this page and reflected within the mobile app under Settings > About > Privacy Policy with an updated Effective Date.
